Summer is the perfect season to refresh your beauty routine. With heat a complexion concern, we have rounded up cooling, rejuvenating solutions for your skin and body, as well as a hydrating lip glaze, a one-and-done shimmery eyeshadow and amber-fuelled scent. Each was created for the festive season ahead. Here’s our pick of a new crop, by editor Trudi Brewer.

A fragrance-free skin healer with dozens of beauty awards to its name is now blended into an SPF —and it’s brilliant. Cicalfate was created to calm and correct dry, itchy, cracked skin associated with eczema or skin sensitivities. The brand calls it 'a multipurpose cream for the whole family's skin-irritation needs’. Now it’s been recreated as a facial sunscreen, stacked with ceramides and vitamin B5, SPF 50+ broad-spectrum UVB/UVA protection, and a four-hour water-resistant formulation. It also has the consistency of a nourishing day cream.
We are VB fans—not just of her exquisite fashion and hubby, Sir David Beckham —but also this crystal-infused, shimmery eyeshadow. Each shade offers a gilded finish infused with real crystals to boost radiance. But there is more: the shadows are stacked with skin-loving ingredients, like squalane, guava and magnolia bark extracts, that soothe and brighten the eye area. There are eight shimmery shades. Pictured here is Chiffon, a very wearable, pearly, champagne gold.
VivÉa Cooling Mist, $53
The latest range of skin care to address the effects of menopause is very luxe. There are six solution-focused products in the collection, with this cooling mist a star in our eyes. Stacked with cucumber hydrosol (steam-distilled from fresh cucumber) and provitamin B5 to soothe and hydrate the skin. It’s pure joy to spritz on the skin post-cleansing or over makeup to refresh, and, if you suffer from hot flashes, this is portable, gentle, and oh-so-cooling.
We adore this K-beauty brand and its global best-selling overnight lip mask. The limited-edition spicy pumpkin pie flavour is just for the holidays. If you haven’t tried this lip renovator, it’s stacked with a berry fruit complex to exfoliate, vitamin C, and nourishing coconut oil. Applying this before bed has become my daily ritual.
Don’t you love lip gloss? This cute, festive offering features three of my favourite shades: Au Naturel, Siren, and Flush. As far as clean makeup goes, Jane Iredale is at the top of their game, and as you know, you eat off around 1.7 kilos of lipstick over a lifetime, so it’s good to go natural. Not only does this Lip Glaze offer a mirror-like shine, but it is stacked with nourishing plant oils, jojoba and evening primrose. As a gift to yourself, these limited-edition pocket-sized glosses are perfect for the holiday season ahead.
Mood by MOR Uplifting Citrus Hand & Body Wash, $26
One of our favourite home fragrance brands has a stunning new collection, Mood by MOR. With a blend of considered scents—bergamot, rose, and cedarwood—to both refresh and uplift, it’s a fab summer aroma. But why do we rate it? The formulas are stacked with skin-loving ingredients — ceramides, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and glycerin — that work to clean and hydrate skin.
Michael Kors Pour Femme Absolu,from,$182
If you like the idea of being the most well-scented person at a party, welcome to a fragrance that will deliver. This newbie from fashion brand Michael Kors is an amber-fruity floral. Allow me to express how bang-on-trend Amber is. It’s both sensual, mysterious, and enveloping, and once blended with the freshness of fruit, it becomes a fragrance with depth and radiating warmth. Along with Amber, the first burst is juicy pear and tart mandarin. Then you can detect the softness of damask rose, pepper, vetiver, creamy vanilla, and tonka bean. Amber gives this scent an almost magical aura. It helps extend the lasting power of those ingredients while leaving a soft, warm trail behind you.

Bring colour and vibrancy to this busy room.
