High-tech new ingredients, viral products, and complicated routines compete for our attention, but brands that cut through the noise offer refreshing clarity. That’s exactly what Australian skincare brand Ultraceuticals is aiming for with its fresh look. Yes, the updated packaging and simplified product names make its extensive range easier to navigate. But the brand’s end game is to make it easier to find the right skincare for your individual needs.
It’s a new expression of a philosophy the brand has championed for almost three decades: science-led skincare designed to deliver visible results. For anyone familiar with the brand, the refreshed identity brings a contemporary feel to its established clinical approach. For those discovering Ultraceuticals for the first time, it offers a clearer starting point for building a targeted skincare routine.
The science behind the brand
Cosmetic physician Dr Geoffrey Heber founded Ultraceuticals in Australia in 1998, after recognising a need for skincare that could complement professional treatments without making overly ambitious promises. He envisioned combining effective active ingredients with scientific research and carefully developed formulations to address specific concerns. Today, that philosophy remains at the heart of the brand, supported by an in-house research and development team. Rather than focusing on a single hero ingredient or chasing every emerging trend, Ultraceuticals takes a multi-faceted approach to skin health. Its formulations address concerns ranging from dehydration and sensitivity to uneven skin tone, blemishes, loss of firmness and visible signs of ageing. This emphasis on combining ingredient knowledge with formulation expertise into a simple routine has helped establish Ultraceuticals as a recognised name in trusted professional skincare.
What's in the collection?
One of the refreshed range's most appealing aspects is its focus on choosing products based on what your skin actually needs. For hydration: The B² Hydrating collection is designed for skin that feels dry, tight, or dehydrated, with products that support moisture and comfort. For skin renewal: The A Renewal range focuses on improving skin texture and visible signs of ageing, with gold-standard ingredients such as vitamin A derivatives. Using Retinome delivery technology, it encapsulates retinol to help protect its stability and optimise its delivery to the skin. It also offers a progressive-strength system, so your skin can build tolerance gradually and avoid irritation. For a brighter-looking complexion: The Lumi Bright collection targets uneven skin tone and dullness, offering options for those looking to improve radiance and clarity. For blemish-prone skin: The Z Clear range provides targeted options for skin affected by congestion and breakouts. For sensitive or redness-prone skin: The Calm Restore collection focuses on gentle cleansing, moisturising and supporting skin comfort. Finally, and arguably the most important step in your routine, is Daily Defence. A collection of antioxidant-packed SPF products with broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection, with a formula to suit every skin type and preference.
Our favourites from the collection
Ultraceuticals Youth Boost ExoSignal GF² Facial Serum, $219
An award-winning formula that combines hydration and skin-conditioning ingredients, including plant-derived exosomes with two types of growth factors, supported by oleosome-fusion technology. First, let’s start with exosomes; they have attracted lots of interest in skincare research because of their role in cellular communication. In this serum, ExoSignal GF²™ exosomes are from Centella asiatica extract. Also known as cica, Centella asiatica is a hero for calming sensitive or stressed-looking skin. Camelina sativa seed oil, along with hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and glycerin, adds hydrating comfort to the skin. It supports skin longevity by targeting firmness, hydration, radiance, fine lines, dark spots, and resilience.
The brand's top-selling serum, and for good reason.
It tackles one of skincare's most universal issues: dehydration- skin that looks dull, feels tight, and shows more noticeable fine lines. How? Three forms of hyaluronic acid, each with a different molecular size, attract and retain moisture to help skin look plumper and smoother. Niacinamide (vitamin B3) supports the skin barrier and improves uneven texture, while panthenol (vitamin B5) hydrates and soothes dry, uncomfortable skin. The gel-like texture absorbs quickly, leaving no greasy residue.
Never underestimate the power of a great night cream - this ticks every box. At its heart is a triple-enzyme complex featuring micrococcus lysate, Arabidopsis thaliana, and plankton extracts. This combination supports the skin's natural overnight renewal processes, helping with texture, firmness, and resilience. The addition of hyaluronic acid and avocado, grape seed, and jojoba seed oils makes this a rich, indulgent cream ideal for a self-care massage before bed - delivering the nourishment ageing skin craves by the end of the day.
Rather than relying on a single brightening ingredient, this serum combines exfoliating and tone-refining actives to address several skin concerns. Mandelic acid helps encourage surface renewal, while niacinamide and hydroxyresveratrol a botanical antioxidant focus on improving the appearance of uneven pigmentation. It’s texture is also gel-like to absorb swifty.
This range offers a sunscreen formula to suit every complexion and preference. My pick, and go-to for years, is this tinted option. What makes it so appealing is its sheer, light-diffusing tint. Instead of heavy, foundation-style coverage, it softens uneven skin tone and creates a naturally luminous finish. We call it a hybrid sunscreen: a blend of chemical (organic) and mineral (inorganic) UV filters that provide UVA and UVB protection. But it’s way more than a tinted sunscreen. The formula packs skin-loving ingredients, niacinamide, provitamin B5, hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and nourishing shea butter, and it’s one of the best SPF’s in town.
Why your routine matters
With so many active ingredients available, it's tempting to layer multiple serums and treatments for faster results. But an effective skincare routine isn't always the most complicated. A considered approach starts with cleansing, then products chosen for your skin's needs, moisturising, and daily sun protection. You can then introduce targeted treatments based on individual concerns and tolerance. Professional guidance can also help you choose appropriate ingredients, decide how often to use them, and select products that work well together. This is especially relevant when introducing active ingredients such as vitamin A or exfoliating acids, which can irritate if used too often or combined without care. While targeted treatments can play an important role, our overarching message is that daily broad-spectrum sunscreen remains a fundamental step in every skin-health routine.

What does Ultraceuticals' new look and identity say about its future?
For me, the new identity feels more modern and easier to navigate, without losing the science and results the brand is known for. The new ‘Powerhouse’ approach organises products around key skin concerns, while the refreshed packaging makes those benefits, technologies and actives much clearer. As a therapist, I love that it simplifies the range for clients while still retaining that clinical credibility.
How do the brand’s seven skincare steps help customers build a routine tailored to their concerns?
The Essential 7 provides a really approachable starting point for building a results-focused routine. It brings together core products spanning cleansing, renewal, hydration, rejuvenation, skin longevity, overnight recovery and daily SPF protection. From there, as therapists, we can tailor the routine to what that individual's skin actually needs, whether that’s hydration, pigmentation, sensitivity, breakouts, or the visible signs of ageing.
What ingredients does Ultraceuticals use to see visible results?
What I like about Ultraceuticals is that it’s not about one hero ingredient. The formulations use targeted combinations of actives and technologies depending on the skin concern. Across the range, you’ll find ingredients such as niacinamide and panthenol for hydration and barrier support; L-ascorbic acid within its collagen-focused technology; niacinamide, hydroxyresveratrol and AHA/BHA complexes for pigmentation and uneven tone; and peptides, ceramides, prebiotics and hydrators to support sensitive skin. There are also advanced technologies including Retinome, ExoSignal™ and DNA³, so we’re able to choose products according to the result we’re trying to achieve.
What sets Ultraceuticals apart in an increasingly crowded skincare market?
For me, as a therapist, it’s the combination of science, personalisation, and the link between professional treatments and home care. Ultraceuticals describes its range as science-driven, high-performance skincare designed to address concerns through multiple pathways. The new structure makes that even easier to translate for clients because products are grouped around clear concerns, including ageing, hydration and barrier integrity, firmness, longevity, environmental protection, pigmentation, sensitivity and acne-prone skin. That means we’re not simply recommending a product because it’s trending; we can build a considered routine around what we see in the skin and what the client wants to achieve.
The Take-Home
Great skincare isn't about having the most products on your bathroom shelf. It's about understanding your needs, choosing formulations that suit you, and building a routine you can maintain. With its new look, Ultraceuticals is bringing that message into sharper focus.

The next chapter in results-driven skincare.
