Elle Fanning and the late great David Bowie are the star-studded combos; to promote the latest luxe-y French fragrance. A futuristic perfume spiked with citrus and vanilla destined for fame. Discover why you need to smell it.

What's in it?

Dora Baghriche, Marie Salamagne, Alberto Morillas, and Fabrice Pellegrin are some of the world’s best fragrance makers. They pooled their creative talents to blend the ingredient for the new Fame fragrance. 90 per cent of the naturally derived, sustainable ingredients were harvested in Grasse. Some would say it's lush from the first spritz, thanks to the succulent mango. Others would say elegant because of pure jasmine oil. Sweet and addictive, thanks to the woody mix of sandalwood and vanilla - but like all fragrances, it's not until you spritz it on warm skin that you make up your mind. Technically it's a 'warm woody musk floral, a potent eau de parfum; the brand has billed as "playful, sensual and empowering." Fame comes in two sizes, 50ml, $195 and 80ml, $252, and they are refillable.

The face

American actor Elle Fanning is the face of the new fragrance and undeniably embodies the meaning of fame. The rising star was chosen because she represents confidence and femininity and for her roles as Princess Aurora in Maleficent (2014), Sophia Coppola's The Beguiled (2017) and, more recently, Empress Catherine II. The hit song, Fame, by the late great David Bowie from his Young Americans album, adds extra celebrity weight. See the social media and campaign of the launch below.

Dazzling, spicy freshness, and the addictive warmth of vanilla and sandalwood, brightened by jasmine, naturally fresh and cheerful, and a delicious, colourful mango. Highlighting the free and disruptive character of the Paco Rabanne woman.

Why do we like it?

The sister fragrance to the smash hit Paco Rabanne's Phantom; this scent was created to capture the Parisian spirit of a confident, fashion-forward woman. Much like the men’s Phantom, the bottle is dressed in chainmail, a nod to the iconic 1968 dress, she is bedazzled with tiny piercings, cat's-eye sunglasses and gold boots. A fashion and fragrance lover’s dream, this is the perfect scent to wear on a hot, humid night but fresh enough to wear on a breezy summer’s day. If it lives up to its name, it does have the quality of being well-known and much coveted.
