Dolce&Gabbana K

Italian powerhouse Dolce&Gabbana has a brand new men’s fragrance, known as ‘K’ an abbreviation of King. Topped with a crown-shaped stopper, we think it's set to be a festive essential. Here's why we like it says editor Trudi Brewer.

What's in it?

It's a woody, spicy concoction that contains some of the finest ingredients available to the two noteworthy perfumers Daphné Bugey and Nathalie Lorson who created it. Bugey took her inspiration from the brand’s Italian roots and told media at the global launch. “D&G wanted to create a modern fragrance, but one that explored the essence of an Italian man who was inspired by his roots and the Italian countryside.” So the first zesty citrus hit is a mix of sparkling blood orange and pressed Sicilian lemon. Next, that freshness heightened by juniper berry, and the blend of clary sage, geranium and lavender. Finally, it's that touch of spice from pimento essence, cherry pepper, cedarwood and vetiver, that gives this gorgeous new fragrance longevity.

Why do we like it?

If you want to give something decadent to win hearts this Christmas or make the one you love, feel uber special, you can’t go wrong with this royal offering. It smells equal parts fresh and spicy, but not too cloying to wear in the summer heat. If you're a D&G fragrance fan, this is undoubtedly a real departure from the light, fresh offerings in their collection. It's sophisticated yet playful. We think Dolce&Gabbana might just have created another winner in 'K' - fit for that man you call king.

The most impressive eye candy in the film that captures the essence of K by Dolce&Gabbana, is model and Italian influencer, Mariano Vivanco. Set in the heart of picturesque Italy, it’s well worth watching.
