Oral care is on the rise beyond brushing your pearly whites twice a day; this beauty category, yes, it’s now part of the growing industry that is self-care, from swanky dental destinations that are more like a beauty spa than the dreaded dentist. Home care and sci-fi gadgets grew to $9.7 billion last year, with toothpaste, toothbrushes and mouthwash as the top three products, according to research company Nielsen says it’s expected to be worth more than $99.78 billion globally by 2030. So what is hot? From travel-friendly whitening pens to fruity toothpaste and high-tech electric brushes, expect to see some sexy-looking oral care in the next 12 months.

Deal with those annoying coffee and red wine stains with the Gem dream duo. Whitening pens in refreshing coconut mint and crisp mint offer dentist-driven ingredients with food-grade hydrogen peroxide to brighten teeth gradually without causing sensitivities. 

 

Moon OBJ WATER FLOSSER, $70.

Californian-based Moon bills itself as an oral beauty brand, says founder Shaun Neff. It provides an array of oral care, the latest US football player Odell Beckham Jr launched the latest Moon Water Flosser, with two tank sizes available for at-home use and travel. The device also features a no-mess jet tip for precision cleaning. Moon also has a popular Teeth Whitening Pen in collaboration with brand partner Kendall Jenner.

 

Oral-B iO and Crest Whitening Emulsions, $42.

These drops help you personalise every step of your daily wellness routine with active peroxide that stays on teeth and works to remove and prevent stains for the entire day.

 

hismile v34 Colour Corrector Serum, $39.

It looks more like a premium skin serum than a brightening emulsion for your teeth. But, like the colour-correcting technology in a purple shampoo to brighten brassy locks, this serum was made to whiten every tooth. With two water-soluble dyes in a deep violet tone with a fresh peppermint taste, the good news is it works within weeks.

 

HAAN Good On Ya Toothpaste, $14.

The 97 per cent natural ingredients of prebiotic inulin and calcium, with eucalyptus, mint and herbal essences, are superfoods for your gums. It prevents bacteria build-up while whitening and freshening your smile.

 

FOREO ISSA 3 ULTRA-HYGIENIC SILICONE SONIC TOOTHBRUSH, $305.

You can drop some serious coin on an electric toothbrush these days, and the purveyors of ultra-advanced skin cleansing tools just launched a high-tech toothbrush. A four-in-one electric brush that is 100 per cent waterproof and made with medical-grade, non-porous, quick-drying silicone. Even the bristles are silicone, which means they are more hygienic and longer-lasting than traditional nylon bristles. It comes in four shades: Fuschia, Mint, pictured here Pearl Pink and Black.
