How I Gave a Boring Outdoor Table a New Life

The Best Outdoor Chairs for Adding Colour

The first step I wanted to get rid of was the grey chairs that the table came with. After searching online for something colourful and comparing quality and price, I went into Hurdleys Office Furniture. They have an extensive range of outdoor chairs in fun colours, it was hard to pick. I was most impressed that the material used is UV colour-resistant, which helps prevent fading when exposed to the sun. I decided on two different models with multiple colours.

Choosing the Right Paint for Concrete Furniture

Secondly I wanted to paint the table. I took one of the chairs into a Resene ColorShop to colour match. The staff were so helpful in finding the perfect match, we chose Resene Anakiwa, a challenging sporty pale blue. They advised me to use a concrete primer which I applied two coats before the two coats of Anakiwa.

Why colour works outdoors: Adding colourful furniture is one of the quickest ways to modernise an outdoor space. Pair weather-resistant seating with painted concrete, potted plants and outdoor cushions to create a backyard that's ideal for entertaining throughout summer.
