How to Use the colour wheel to style your home this winter

The colour wheel is a visual reference to how individual colours can complement each other. Some experts live by this wheel to create shade harmony in their lives and homes. Style director Louise Hilsz shares the power of colour and how beautifully opposites attract when styling any room in your home.

This theory is not new but still relevant when planning your interior style. For a quick reminder on how colour works seamlessly, primary colours consist of red, yellow, and blue, which are the basic colours that cannot be created by mixing two other colours. Secondary colours come from combining two primary colours, which are green (blue and yellow), orange (red and yellow), and purple (red and blue). At the same time, tertiary colours are formed by combining primary and secondary colours. With that sorted, we know this is a valuable tool for artists, interior designers, and makeup artists. Still, it can also add balance and unity to the colour palette you choose for any room in your home. Read on to see our favourite shade combinations that are perfect for winter.
