Battling parched dry skin post-summer? We are. Once skin becomes dry it damages your moisture barrier, which means tiny cracks can develop in the top layer of skin that’s supposed to keep moisture in and irritants out. Then if it remains dry, this is when it can make skin sensitive. It’s at this time of the year or any season change, you need to spend time developing a good moisturising routine. Invest in formulas that contain emollient oils and antioxidants, vitamins and humectants, (moisture magnets) which attract water and trap it in the skin. Here's the latest duo from Avène that will make life with dry skin a little easier.

Avène Revitalising Nourishing Cream, $56.

What’s in it?

Like all Avène skincare, the base to this cream is thermal spring water, with glycerin, hydrolysate (protein), red fruit extracts including red currant, raspberry, blueberry, vitamin E, and rich emollient oils. But it's how it feels that got us excited. This cream is non-comedogenic and paraben-free.

Why do we like it?

While this is ultra-hydrating, it doesn’t feel greasy, the texture of this cream has a whipped, cloud-like feel that melts like a gel on the skin, making it luxurious and almost addictive. Once you start on this, you may never go back to your old mainstays. Use morning and night on the face and neck.
