Beauty brands have been guilty of marketing luxurious skincare exclusively to 20’s something for quite some time now. Hello, 40 per cent of those pricey cosmetic purchases are made by women 50 plus. There is an entire generation of cashed-up seniors out there that are largely being ignored. According to journalist Dian Griesel from Forbes, “The silver sector of the population is a force to be reckoned with. Savvy and sophisticated, they are harnessing decades of real-world experience, as well as their sizeable earning power.” Griesel says, the 55 plus generation controls more than 70 per cent of all U.S. disposable income and may inherit about $15 trillion in the next 20 years. That financial clout appeals to Clarins, who has a new range of skincare named Nutri-Lumiere dedicated to ageing skin regardless of their age. Read on to learn more.

Here’s what’s in it

Ideal for post-menopausal skin, the focus of this new skincare line is to nourish dull, dry, fragile skin, with four products. To do that the Clarins scientists have packed 10 organic ingredients, into this new range including a plant squalane (that mimics the skin’s natural oils), hibiscus flower acids that gently exfoliate, ginseng and green coffee extracts to boost radiance. Harungana, (from the St. Johnswort family of plants), oat sugars, and the ‘Leaf of Life’ (that grows in South America and is used medicinally for respiratory conditions such as asthma, and bronchitis). Combined these ingredients hydrate, lift, and smooth slack-looking skin. Fitting with Clarin’s tagline 'glowing skin after 40,’ these creams and an esscence can be used by anyone who is concerned with how their skin is ageing.
