Nesti Dante Immunity

I am soap obsessed. Not only for it's cleansing ability, some bars are also a health essential, says editor Trudi Brewer.

The classic soap bar brings memories of my mum. She was obsessed with cleanliness (which explains my slight OCD behaviour), and soap was her BFF. Fast forward to 2020, and soap has been in the spotlight in the fight to stay virus-free, for keeping skin ultra-clean. When this beautiful bar landed on my desk, it brought back those childhood memories, which is why I call this newbie my new bathroom MVP.

Nesti Dante Immunity Hygiene Soap Bar, $13.

What's in it?

First up, Nesti Dante knows how to make soap. This Italian family business has been making soap since 1947, using the classic Marseille soap-making method. A five-day process, with pure soap noodles boiled in cauldrons and a day of setting, this is the reason they have earned the reputation for being one of the most respected and successful soap companies in the world. And now an antibacterial bar made to capture every speck of lingering dirt, bacteria, and impurities from your skin, is on offer. It's vegan and free from any nasties such as artificial fragrance and colourants. But what makes it a leading player in our virus-fighting world right now is an organic salt (benzalkonium chloride), which is super effective at killing, and preventing the spread of microorganisms.

Why do we like it?

If you're a minimalist (another obsession of mine), this bar tick’s every box, it looks beautiful, and does it all. Its real feature is that it cleans instantly and protects without stripping the natural oils from your skin - and the stylish packaging makes it the perfect gift for someone you love.
