Fashion in the Vines at The Hunting Lodge 2020

We could not have asked for a better day for our Fashion in the Vines event at The Hunting Lodge. Out West Auckland, in Waimauku, we hosted 160 guests in The Barn on Saturday, 7th November.
The Expressions range was on offer with three courses to complement the wines, followed by a line-up of new season summer fashion, interiors inspiration, and the latest beauty innovations to update your skincare makeup and fragrance wardrobe.

Check out all the event details, the video, and photos below.

WINE TASTING & MENU

From the Blush Crush, on arrival, to a selection of Expressions wines including the Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir, our guests got to sample the best on offer from The Hunting Lodge. Winemaker Pete Turner matched each course, from the Italian style grazing platter with Expressions Pinot Gris, to the Expressions Chardonnay with the local organic chicken cooked in The Hunting Lodge Crowd Blend White Mischief with rice pilaf.
Finally, the sweet treats, paired with The Hunting Lodge Pinot Noir perfectly, which won over a few hearts on the day.

FASHION SHOW

The first of our two salon-style runways shows was inspired by summer, which is only moments away. Our style director, Louise Hilsz, curated a collection of local fashion from swimwear to workwear and more.

THE BEAUTY PANEL

Our brand partners inspired our guests with insider tips and tricks on how to update your skincare, makeup, and fragrance wardrobe. While a registered dietician shared the value of including a collagen supplement in your diet and not just for internal health but to get your skin glowing from the inside out. With four pop-up beauty bars, outside The Barn, our guests not only got to try but to purchase the products at a special BeautyEQ discounted price.

Our five experts on the day include (from left) Swisse registered dietician, Andrea Fenner, Shiseido’s Chris Kennedy-Grant, Guerlain’s Maria Huljich-Boshier, hairstylist, Ed, from Oscar & CO Loft for Redken, and Tatum Dunster from Pure Fiji with editor Trudi Brewer.

GUERLAIN

It was a pleasure to share two new fragrances for Guerlain, Aqua Allegora Grandada Salvia, and Guerlain Aqua Allegora Orange Soleia. Our guests were taken on a fragrance journey with an edited range from Guerlain‘s Aqua Allegora collection and taught how to wear more than one fragrance at once, with fragrance combining. Wearing coloured ribbons, infused with these summery scents, it gave each guest an opportunity to find their fragrance match, from a range of perfume packed with the best sun-ripened goodness from Mother Nature.

HAIR

Backstage stylist Gene Edwards, ‘Ed’ from Oscar&CO Loft for Redken worked his magic on our eight models. He also joined the beauty panel to talk about summer hair trends. How to manage frizz in our humid weather was a hot topic, and Ed shared how to get an effortless simple hairstyle at home by embracing the texture of your hair, instead of fighting with it.

SHISEIDO

Our models were sporting the latest Shiseido lip shades in a range of finishes - and there was a colour for every skin tone. Finding a new lip look was easy with the Shiseido lip guides, our guests were able to use a QR code over lunch to discover a new colour, and then try it out at the pop-up beauty bar. Shiseido LipLiner InkDuo with a built-in balm, Shiseido Modernmatte Powder Lipstick in 30 shades, were on offer, as well as a new breed of lip gloss, which offers a mirror-like shine, and 12-hours of hydration - it’s fair to say Shiseido Shimmer GelGloss, stole the show.

SWISSE

Registered dietician Andrea Fenner shared the benefits of collagen, and what a daily dose of this glow-giver can do for your body, skin, and hair. Our guests got to sample the new range from the Swisse Collagen Glow to Swisse Collagen Balance and Swisse Collagen Renew. But most importantly they got one-on-one attention from the Swisse team to find a supplement solution to suit their beauty needs.

PURE FIJI

In the absence of jetting off on a tropical getaway, we bought the tropics to Fashion in the Vines. Pure Fiji shared what they are famous for bath and body products, and a new high-tech brightening range the Pure Fiji Vitamin Collection. One guest commented, “I use Pure Fiji because it smells so good, but now I know what’s in it, I am a convert.” From the nourishing oils to potent plant extracts our guests now understand this brand has a skin solution for both your face and body.

WEAVE HOME

From luxurious cushions to waterproof bean bags to relax poolside or in the garden over summer, the new collections from Weave Home are inspired by places we all love to visit, Palm Springs. From cushions, throws, and timeless floor rugs, interior architect Janice Kumar-Ward shared how to style soft furnishing in any room of your home.

FASHION SHOW FINALE

Our fashion finale, highlighted just how inspiring our New Zealand designer’s are when it comes to shopping local. If you are looking for a new outfit for the festive season ahead, this collection of styles curated by our style director Louise Hilsz, even got the models up dancing.
