Change up your candle scent

Scenting your home is so important. When you open the door it’s one of the first senses to be impacted and a candle is an easy way to set the mood. Move away from light florals and head down a warm, woody path.

Ecoya Spiced Ginger & Musk Madison jar, $53. Cire Trudon Spiritus Sancto 270g candle from World, $149. Alchemy Produx Tobacco Pine Beacker candle, $85. French Country Collections Into The Woods glass candle, $65.

Rethink a warmer tone of paint

Two of our fave Instagram accounts we follow for decor inspiration Evie Kemp and Michelle Matangi both recently transformed a room in their homes with warm winter colour. We're inspired by there flair with colour and how these tones can instantly change the look and feel of any living space.

Hello Autumn! Or should I say “Yellow Autumn!” 😂🙄.
We gave the living room it’s annual colour update with my first ever yellow wall, it’s actually the most scrumptious gold - Dulux “Manaia”. I feel like this room has been waiting for this colour all its life. You know when a colour just feels SO right? I had this when I became a redhead 😂. It’s super cozy and embraces the darkness of the space (its never going to be a light and airy room) but it also brings a big dose of bright colour and life. Not to mention how well it works with the wood and and the bricks - warm tone central right here and it’s divine.

Right now the acer tree outside the window is turning and the colour matches in just so perfectly. And, wait till you see my newly Manaia-d heatpump!

I’ve finally completed the transformation in my office/fitting room! This is where I do coaching calls and also where I fit clients for clothing alterations. It’s been a lot of work removing the old anaglypta wallpaper, the walls were then skim coated, I prepped everything with so much care and boy has it made a difference to the final colour coat which is “Nude” by Porters Paints I also repainted the ceiling and all the architraves! The room feels so fresh and new! It’s been so much work but it’s now such a beautiful room and it makes me want to be in here a lot more which was the whole point, I find aesthetically pleasing spaces far more inspiring to work in!
Artwork is by the very talented @eviekemp 💕
