Roses and ribbons - what's not to love? Editor Trudi Brewer shows off a tenth-anniversary bottle of perfume from an iconic fashion brand.
Chloè Absolu De Parfum, 50ml, $155.
From the moment we took the first whiff of the original Chloé Eau de Parfum back in 2008, we knew it would become a fragrance classic. Ten years on this new Chloè Absolu De Parfum is also perfection in a pleated bottle. Created by the scent’s original perfumer, Michel Almairac, to celebrate a decade of Cholè fragrance, here's what to expect.
What is it?
A contemporary take on a timeless rose fragrance, the arrival of this Cholè is perfect timing for the festive season of fragrance gifting. It’s perfume, so it’s potent, and lasts for hours on the skin but it’s not overpowering at all. In what has become an oversaturated fragrance market, (it has undoubtedly been a year of fruity florals); we were so ready for this sophisticated, powdery, scent.
What's in it?
Crammed with Damascena rose, or commonly known as Damask rose, and Centifolia rose or more widely called Rose de Mai, these expensive rose oils give it the classic rose aroma. But it’s the blend of vanilla and fresh, green patchouli that rounds off the delicate floral notes nicely to add a woody charm.
Why do we like it?
First up Cholè anything gets us excited. From the lineup of luxe-y handbags to the feminine 70's inspired fashion, and now a celebratory scent. If you’re already a Chloè fragrance fan, you will love this limited-edition, to me it smells like freshly washed laundry once on the skin. This scent will appeal to any woman who wants to smell not just lovely, but sensational - think delicate and velvety the most exceptional rosy aroma. Like all Chloè accessories, the bottle will make for an Instagram-worthy photo on your dressing table. The vintage-looking pleated glass is reminiscent of a crepe de chine Cholè blouse, tied with a soft sparkly beige ribbon as a nod to the pussy-bow. Hand on heart, everything about this fragrance is truly divine.
