From the weekend, to the office or heading for the night editor Trudi Brewer reveals how to downsize your beauty bag and make one foundation work for every occasion.
Here's how to wear Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF15, $86.
My weekend look consists of sneakers, leggings or jeans, and a T shirt. The foundation needs to be loaded with an SPF, and then it's a touch of mascara and a hydrating lip balm or gloss.
Tip: On the weekend, when I want that 'no makeup' makeup look, I prep skin with a hydrating moisture cream, and then use my fingers to apply makeup, warming it first between my fingertips. I start in the middle of my face and blend outwards so I don't get a tidemark where the makeup begins and ends. Not only is there an SPF15 sunscreen in Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF15, the true-to-skin pigments blend my uneven complexion, namely the sun spots allowing me to go concealer-free on the weekends.

A silk shirt teamed with jeans is my go-to work look right now. It's smart, but casual and takes me from a planning meeting to a product launch with ease.
Tip: On work days I need a foundation that stays put for hours, without the risk of my skin looking shiny. I always prep my skin first with an illuminating moisture balm to blur imperfections and smooth out my uneven skin tone. After applying concealer to any dark spots around the eye area, I use a foundation brush to achieve a medium coverage and a flawless finish. I always warm makeup on the back of my hand, and then apply it in long even strokes to avoid streaking. Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF15 controls shine, but doesn't feel dry. The natural mineral powders keep oil and shine at bay, while the glycerin and Shea butter help to keep my skin feeling hydrated for hours. For the day I smudge a little eyeliner on the lid, add mascara, pat on some cream blush, and finish my look with a slick of nude-coloured lipstick.

I love to wear a dress for an evening out, and lately I have embraced colour. The V neck on this Maxi is so flattering and ideal for adding a touch of sparkle to the décolletage for a night out.
Tip: I often need to race home and get ready quickly for a work function or dinner. No one wants to spend hours applying makeup before a night out, so my repertoire is fast and straightforward. I press face oil over the top of my existing day makeup to refresh and revive my skin after a busy day. Then I use a fluffy brush to buff on a fresh layer of foundation. Using circular movements, buffing on makeup helps to give a seamless finish with fuller coverage. After pressing on a new layer of pink blush, I then buff the Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation, SPF15 and blush together to ensure there are no hard lines. Next, I press on a touch of sparkly eyeshadow on lids, reapply mascara and bold lip colour. I always finish my look with a dab of clear gloss in the middle of the bottom lip.
