Shiseido Inkstroke Eye Liner Brush, $55 and Shiseido Instroke Eye Liner, $56.
It's been a long time coming, but finally Shiseido is the first to launch a brush and liner to help us tackle the tricky beauty duty of precision eye lining. Inspired by the art of Japanese calligraphy and Japanese painting the brush offers a precise, easy application, thanks to the arched, 30-degree angled brush with tapered bristles.. While the gel-like liner inspired by Suzuri (Inkstoke a ground ink-cake used to create Japanese art) offers smudge-proof, creamy colour that is sweat, water and fade-proof.

Here's how easy it is to use.

How to hold the brush to create a straight line.
Hold the curved part lightly between your thumb, index and middle finger, and then gentle run the brush along the lash line of the upper lid.
How to hold the brush to create to create a flick, or for under the eye.
Hold the brush upside down, to create a V, with the bristles facing upward.

That brush ingenuity paired with a unique gel-based liner formulation and a V -shaped tab in the pottle to help dispense a small amount of liner ensures you get a gorgeous, fine or thick line, regardless of your makeup skill. There are six shades, created by Shiseido's artistic director Dick Page including Shikkoku Black, Shinrin Green, Nasubi Purple, Empitsu Gray, Kon-ai Blue (the shade I used) and Kuromitsu Brown.

Paperlight Cream Eye Color

Shiseido Paperlight Cream Eye Color, $50
The perfect base to a liquid liner makeup look is a wash of creamy eye shadow. And this cream colour is effortless to apply, as all that is required are your fingers. Inspired by Japanese washi paper, the colour is almost weightless; it melts into the skin to leave a pastel wash that lasts for hours. There are eight shades including Namiki Bright Green, Asagi Blue, Nobara Pink, Sango Coral (the colour I used), Shobu Purple, Yamabuki Yellow, Usuzumi Beige Gray and Hisui Green.
