BEQ TV - how to create a simple smokey eye

For the upcoming party season, a smokey eye is a brilliant accessory to any little black dress. And for a simple, yet stunning result, you can create this look in three easy steps. KieKie Stanners, MAC Cosmetics national artist, joins me to share her tips on how to nail this look.

Regardless of age or eye shape, there is a fool-proof rule to creating a smokey eye. Kiekie Stanners says "Keep the depth of colour close to the lash line, and press on the sparkle right at the end". Here is Stanners step-by-step guide on how to create the perfect party eye makeup look.

1. Draw the pencil along the lash line and smudge it out to blend away any hard lines.

2. To avoid the eyeshadow dropping onto the cheek area, press the powder on top of eyeliner and blend it up into the crease with a fluffy brush.

3. To finish the look, press sparkle onto the lid using a flat brush.
