The right shade can brighten your smile while defining your style. It’s also a great measure of the global economic mood - which is not that buoyant right now. Coined the Lipstick Index, lipstick sales (which are up again, btw) suggest when we feel down about business, those less-expensive purchases such as lipstick go up - and what a way to boost our mood, right? So to celebrate all things lip worthy, we’re celebrating National Lipstick Day (July 29) this week. Happy #NationalLipstickDay.
Here are the lippies we love at Life Pharmacy.

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Shine Lipstick The Bold, in Reignited Amber, $75.

If you like the finish of lip gloss but need more colour payoff, this newbie from YSL meets that brief. The red floral and grape oil blend keeps your pout moisturised for hours. At the same time, the reflective shine makes this a brilliant option. There are nine glossy shades.

ESTEE LAUDER PURE COLOUR HI-LUSTRE LIPSTICK, in NUDE, $69.

This clever long-lasting, hydrating lippy boasts a ‘Moisture Lock Complex.’ A blend of potent oils, red raspberry, meadowfoam and apricot seed oils, and antioxidant plant extracts to condition and plump while you wear it. There are eight shades, including this suits-everyone nude.

Clarins Lip Comfort Oil 09 Chocolate in Chocolate, $57.

This lip oil is divine, not just the glossy finish, but it’s loaded with 93 per cent natural ingredients. Including lip-loving organic sweetbriar rose, hazelnut and organic Jojoba oils, now there are eight gorgeous shades.

Clinique Dramatically Different Lipstick Shaping Lip Colour, in BAMBOO PINK $58.

This lippy delivers more than just colour. The 3D pearl centre core sculpts and contours the lips, offering a smoother pout over time. Genius right? There are 15 glorious shades.

SHISEIDO TechnoSatin Gel Lipstick, in Heatmap, $56.

This lippy is the perfect blend of science and flexible colour. Thanks to the clever ‘Stretch-Flex Technology’ that acts like a second skin. Add the skincare benefits of cold-pressed safflower oil; all 20 ultra-rich satin-like shades are addictive.

Revlon Colorstay Suede Ink in, In Charge, $32.

Expect eight hours of hydrating, opaque coverage from this new lipstick. It leaves bold colour with that 'naked lip feel.' Yes, it contains skincare benefits, too, including antioxidants and vitamin E. There are 16 shades to choose from - yes.
