How to make a grand entrance

Catching up on the latest season of The Crown and Gilded Age inspired us to create a grand entrance in our homes. After all, it’s the first impression when walking in the door, says style director Louise Hilsz. Scroll on to be inspired.

Using colour in an entrance will make an instant impact and set the mood for the the rest of your home. From bold paint to a colourful piece of furniture or an intricate rug, make statement choices to help set the scene for the beautiful decor ahead.

A grand entrance creates a focal point, so you must consider all the other tones throughout your home. Using contrasting colours for complexity, or a standout piece of furniture, a stunning rug through to the flowers in the vase. This is how you make a grand entrance.
