Not all eye creams are created equal. Unlike moisturiser that is designed to hydrate, plump and smooth the skin, these lightweight creams specifically treat for the eye area to decongest, drain and tighten this delicate skin. Here are my favourite hacks on how to use your eye cream every day.

Top tips on how to use your eye cream

Smooth fine lines
Be gentle with this area of the face. Use your ring finger to pat on a small amount of eye cream and only around the orbital bone and up onto the brow bone. Then add the leftover product to smooth out fine lines between your brows and the upper lip.

Less is more
Only use the smallest amount of eye cream each day. The size of a matchstick head is all you need, for both eyes. If you use too much it can accentuate puffiness and cause irritation.

Nourish while concealing
Mix a tiny amount of eye cream with your concealer, it helps hydrate and prime the under eye area, also cutting down on creasing, while helping your makeup to last longer.

Hydrate your cuticles
The extra-hydrating properties of an eye cream will work wonders on dry, cracked cuticles. Next time you're tempted to pick at that skin around the nails, reach for the eye cream instead, your nails will thank you for it.
