Shimmery, on-trend in the most blendable bronze-y, sunset shades. Editor Trudi Brewer shares what she believes is Jane Iredale’s best collection yet.
Just when the promise of a long, hot summer is almost over, natural beauty brand Jane Iredale offers up some of the most dazzling shimmery shades for the eyes, cheeks, and lips. Blend-able, wearable and good enough to eat, thanks to the vegan-friendly formulation this is a range of colour that will suit everyone. Just so you know to be a bonafide natural makeup brand you must be free of parabens, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfate, silicones, polyethylene and polypropylene (microbeads), talc, mineral oil, petrolatum, formaldehyde, and toluene, and each product from this brand meets that brief. The ingredients the best from Mother Nature in shades that are blendable, transfer-resistant and oh, so flattering, which is what makes them so versatile. What I love most is the "post-holiday hint of bronze it gives my skin, the pretty shimmer the lip gloss adds in seconds in shades that range from light to medium, cool to warm. Thanks to this impressive new collection, I intend to keep my skin looking summery for the entire winter season.
Here's the new collection
Jane Iredale Solar Flare Eye Shadow Kit, $101
The most on-trend colour for the eyes is a metallic burgundy brown. This palette offers up some of the best. The four shades range from Flash, (the darkest shade) a metallic deep gold red to Corona, a shimmery taupe, and Sunspot, a pretty peachy beige. Finally, for a spotlight that glows in the middle of the eyelid, Aurora is metallic ivory (the round eye shadow in the palette). Highly pigmented, you don't have to worry about these colours traveling. They’re crease-resistant hues that can be layered on top of each other to create a bespoke shade, used wet or dry and safe on the most sensitive eyes.
Jane Iredale PureGloss Lip Gloss, $59.
In three new nude-tinted shades, these are such a great addition to any beauty bag. Blossom, is a pretty rosy pink, while Pink Glace, is the perfect sheer soft nude, with a hint of silver shimmer. Finally, Spiced Peach gives lips just a hint of glossy coral, (perhaps my favourite gloss in the collection). It is stacked with organic oils, to add moisture and shine. Vegan-friendly, this gloss is also wheat and cruelty-free.

Jane Iredale Sunset PurePressed Blush, in Sunset $58.
To balance well-dressed lips and lids, this guava-tinted blush comes with built-in gold shimmer, you can buff onto your cheeks or use as a contour. The mineral base, while a powder, feels more like a cream to apply, and leaves a luminous-lasting glow on the cheeks the Jane Iredale cosmetic range is famous for. This natural-looking flush of colour lasts for hours, and the added benefits of antioxidants nourish and protect the skin, while you wear it.
