Boosting moisture, cutting back on heat styling, or the on-trend, pretty way to tie up your locks. Editor Trudi Brewer shares her tips on how to summer-proof your hair.
One of our favourite ways to style summer hair is with a scarf. Wrap a pony or top knot in a pretty scarf before you hit the beach, or hide a bad hair day. This style also protects your hair from those colour-fading UV damage.

Here’s how to summer-proof you hair this holiday season
Boost moisture, cut back on heat styling. Also, protect your hair if it's coloured, in the same way, you wear sunscreen on our face, use a UV filter shampoo and conditioner, and always wear a hat when you are out in the sun.
Washing your hair every other day enables it to retain its natural oils, which prevents your hair from drying out. Use a spray on frizz tamer, or a leave-in-conditioner. Also, allow your hair to air dry, a great tip is to go to bed with your hair damp, to allow the natural curl to form, and then in the morning dampen it down and style the front. Or add a serum in the morning to calm any flyaway
What you do post-shower is key. Wrap your hair in an Aquis towel and gently squeeze the hair to remove water, rather than roughing it up.
An Aquis hair towel is made from super-soft, ultra-absorbent fabric, which decreases drying time, and helps to minimise frizz. Avoid never brush your hair when it's wet, invest in a Tangle Teezer to remove knots before styling.
Sleep on a silk pillow, they work wonders for curly hair. Curls form best when the hair is well-nourished, add a serum to the ends of the hair or leave-in conditioner to refresh the hair rather than washing every day.
When you're on holiday, start by washing your hair under cold water before you take a dip in the pool or at the beach. Your hair can only absorb so much water, so wetting it with fresh water first will limit the amount of damaging chlorine or salt it can absorb.
