MAC's latest collaboration is with makeup artist royalty. Three top international artists Kabuki, James Kaliardos and Diane Kendal have teamed up with the brand to create MAC Makeup Art Cosmetics, a 50-piece makeup line that hits counters February 20.
Backstage beauty is at the heart of the MAC brand and over the years dozens of artists have created fashion looks at 34 fashion weeks across the globe. However, it's the first time the beauty brand has collaborated with independent makeup artists to create a collection for real women to wear. According to Kabuki who has just finished his Auckland tour the artists were given complete freedom in creating the shades, textures and products for the collections. Kendal’s focus was a nod to her signature sun-kissed lids and cheeks, teamed with a bold lip, while Kaliardos the master of perfect skin, offers a more neutral palette. Kabuki famous for being clever with bold colour, offers highly pigmented cream eyeshadows, a brilliant, red lip colour, and a beautiful bronzer and blush duo.
