Skin needs SPF protection all year round, even on those day when you are working in the city. However come summer, I want to streamline my beauty routine and wear a tinted, hydrating sunscreen. Here are my picks of SPF's for the city, to suit any budget.
Rimmel London #Insta Flawless Light/Medium, $16.
Our smug beauty buy, if you can find it (it sells out fast), not only primes skin, it also adds a hint of colour. I mix it with my foundation and apply it with a brush - and for the price, it has well and truly earned its name.
Invisible Zinc Tinted Daywear Med SPF 30+, $25.
A top-seller in pharmacy across the country for it's sheer colour, broad spectrum protection and moisturising qualities. For me the fact that it is free from parabens, fragrance, and has the skin-loving titanium dioxide ingredient, it's a no-brainer. Available in Medium and Light, make sure you blend it well, a little goes a long way.
Burts Bees BB Cream, $30.
We started using this tint because it acted more like a moisturising sunscreen with a colour. But it has become our go-to for the multi-purpose benefits, now we take it everywhere.
Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Mineral Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15, $72.
One of the thumbs-up qualities about this tinted sun protection are the added vitamins A, C and E, that help fight free radical exposure when you're out and about in the sun. It will also brighten skin thanks to the sheer, build-able colour, that is super hydrating too.
Lancôme Hydra Zen BB Cream, $83.
Not only does this tint hydrate, and even out blemishes, the ingredients helps to calm skin, which is a bonus for those who become sensitive in the heat. It can be worn alone, or if you like a heavier coverage as a makeup base.
Ultraceuticals Ultra UV Protective Daily Moisturiser SPF 30 Sheer Tint, $84.
The handy pump is a plus with this lightweight cream that acts more like a moisturiser that leaves a radiant glow. If you have normal to dry skin you will love it, for those who are blemish prone, it maybe a bit oily.
Eve Lom Radiance Perfected Tinted Moisturiser, $96.
It has a cult-following, and I know why. Not only does it offer an SPF, it also gives skin a radiant hit and a decent coverage. But what I like most you can wear a shade darker than you natural skin colour during summer and it blends seamlessly.
