On one of the wettest and coldest days in Auckland city, Carena West hit the runway at NZ Fashion Week with her latest range of chic swimwear, and a beauty team to envy on her side. Smashbox’s Lead Pro Artist, Sam Hart designed a makeup look around dramatic winged black liner, and luminous bronzed skin. Fudge took beach-y hair to new heights, with an unstructured messy ponytail, created by celebrity stylists Sara Allsop of Dharma hair, and Wellington-based Michael Beel from Bouy. And the shapely bodies, tanned courtesy of St Tropez. We could not help but admire West for celebrating real woman's curves of all shapes and sizes and resisting the urge to run with the fashion pack and go super thin with her models. West told media, "We selected the models in an open casting of real women not models." Her goal was to showcase women who are healthy and happy with how they look. "Women that represent a diverse range of body shapes." We thought she nailed that.
