The sassy Scandal American ABC star Kerry Washington has turned her skills to creating nail enamel, with the latest announcement that she is the new creative ambassador for OPI. Her first collection hits counters in August, which was co-designed by OPI's co-founder and creative director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann. Washington told WWD. "This is going to be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to testing out new colours on the red carpet. The fun, for me, is that nail lives in the crossover space between fashion and beauty. I love to play with nail colour on the red carpet and explore new shades." She also believes that partnerships take commitment. "Partnerships take a lot of time. If I am going to put my name and my face and my energy behind something, I want it to be authentic," says Washington. Who's favourite shade is reported to be OPI black red, Lincoln Park After Dark, which happens to be our go-to colour in winter too.

The OPI Washington, D.C. collection includes 12 shades, from a daring red, named Madam President (first polish, on second row) to an olive green, named The First Lady of Nails, (third polish, first row) as well as a more demure hue, called Pale to the Chief (last polish, on first row) and every shade in between. OPI Washington DC nail enamel costs $20. The full line will be available at Farmers.
