Highlighting does not have to be hard work to gain definition and a healthy-looking glow on skin. So in keeping with the naturals focus this week, from skincare to three new luminous shades of highlighter - housed in a stick. Here's how to apply them.
Nude by Nature Touch of Glow Highlight Sticks, $24 hit counters this week, designed to add dimension, colour and that much sought after glow. The idea is that you swipe on this cream to powder colour straight from the stick, and then use your fingers to blend. Where to place them I hear you ask? Nude by Nature makeup artist Owen Allison shares his tips.
Bronze Highlight Stick: to add warmth, definition and depth to skin. "Use the bronze to define and sculpt your bone structure, by adding depth to the outer edges of the face, as this lifts the highlights in the centre of the face. Pay attention to check under the jaw and make sure the bronze shade is perfectly blended."
Rose Highlight Stick: To add a hint of radiant colour and warmth, use this as you would a blusher, on the apples of the cheeks. "Apply with fingers, and then softly tap your fingers on the top of the cheeks, and then smooth the colour until it blends flawlessly into the skin."
Champagne Highlight Stick: To instantly illuminate and add sheen. Allison says this is the star product. "Apply the champagne shade along the middle of the nose, top of the cupid's bow on the top lip, under and above the brow bone, and along the top of the cheek, just above the rose blusher. Finally, blend the three shades with your fingers or a foundation brush so the look is flawless between all three colours".
Top tip: Contouring should be subtle by day but as the lights go down, ramp up the look to make the most this trend.
