Ever stepped into an Aesop store on your travels, inhaled the life-like, evergreen aroma; and thought I want to bath in these products? Well this plant-based Melbourne beauty brand was born 30 years ago and still strives to evoke that very thought with every product it creates. They use the very best ingredients, from nature or lab-derived, essential oils and packaging -I guess that's why it is loved across the globe. And for those die hard fans, very soon you will be able to step into a new store in Auckland's, Newmarket, which is set to open in late August.
The newest addition to the range, drum roll please... Elemental Facial Barrier Cream, $73, perfect for this time of the year, to slather onto dry skin. This ridiculously rich cream works on all skin types but is particularly beneficial for those who are parched and sensitive. You can be sure your skin will be well hydrated, but also it helps give skin a nourishing barrier against dehydrating elements inside and outdoors. What's inside this little brown jar I hear you ask? A combination of a carnauba wax, zinc, copper salts and ginger root extract to name a few. Along with soothing essential oils of clove, Roman chamomile and sandalwood, which help to give it such a comforting aroma.
Elemental Facial Barrier Cream, $73 (below) can be used day or night to boost moisture levels in skin, while creating a shield from the cold winter weather.
My favourite Aesop stores in New York and Covent Garden, London.
