Meet Sarah Simpson beauty director

Beauty director Sarah Simpson shares her beauty wisdom and those brilliant buys that she - and soon you -  won't be able to live without.

Sarah Simpson's must have beauty buys

What does beauty mean to you?
Beauty to me is a gorgeous smile, beautiful skin, and sparkly eyes. What you feel within most certainly shines through.

What is your one beauty indulgence?
I have a thing about nails – I look at people’s nails, and I always like mine immaculate. So every fortnight you’ll find me in a nail spa getting pampered.

What do you always keep on your bedside table?
ECOYA Lip Balm, MOR hand cream, my Peter Alexander eye mask and a book (Alexander McQueen at the moment).

What would we always find in your beauty bag?
What wouldn’t you find! About 30 lipsticks, (29 shades of pink and one red). Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Long-Wear Brow Pencil, tweezers, hand mirror, MAC Blot Powder and the new Narcisco Rodriguez Poudree that launches in May.

What beauty advice do you find yourself sharing?
Brow tattooing at On Browhouse - it's the best thing I have ever done. Always cleanse your skin at night - I often growl at my friends that don’t wash their make-up off at night. That, and of course, nothing lifts you up more than a bright lippy on a dreary day.

What should we always have in our handbag this winter?
Hand cream and lip balm should go everywhere with you.

What is your desert island product?
L'Orèal Paris Extra Volume Collagen Million Lashes Mascara and I would make a lip and cheek stain with pomegranate juice on the island!

Any other beauty advice you would pass on?
Smile - it does make you look prettier. Always wear sunscreen and always wash that makeup off at night.

What is your best anti-ageing advice?
Tackle ageing with an optimistic approach. Start with great quality skincare and a promise to yourself to take care of your skin, while allowing yourself the chance to have some pampering and rest. A well rested cared-for complexion looks young without trying.
