The new, 'spa-inspired treatment mask', Re-Nutriv Revitalizing Mask Noir from Estée Lauder is one of a kind. I don't think there has ever been an ingredient line up like this in a DIY skin mask. It's a two-step purifying pick-me-up for skin that needs radiance, which incorporates dry brushing to give skin the best glow. The mask has some 'out-of-the-ordinary' ingredients such as extract of black diamond truffle, 24k gold and crushed South Sea pearls - and it happens to be my favourite colour - black. The first step involves dry brushing of the face with a soft bristle accompanying brush. Instructions for the step-by-step massage techniques come in the box, which promotes lymphatic drainage to get the blood flowing under the skin, ready for the goodies from the mask you apply next. The second step is the mask itself. Bamboo charcoal and black diamond truffle extract (hence the colour) work to buff and clean skin pores and eliminate toxins. According to Lauder, those signs of fatigue we are all fighting are minimised leaving skin looking much brighter - and I have to agree. Once it has been on the skin for a few minutes, you gently massage in the ultra-fine natural jojoba, polishing beads with your fingertips and this removes any dry skin build up. I love the way the tiny speckles of 24k gold, and shimmery flecks of the South Sea pearls were left on my skin after you wash it off - this takes pampering to the next level.
