There is nothing quite like that feeling of packing up the car ready for your summer holiday. While I am known to be an over-packer, I have tried over the years to pair things back knowing full well, a lot of it never makes its way out of my suitcase. But, where beauty is concerned, there are some non-negotiable items that will always make it into the bag. Here they are:
Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist, $40.
I love taking this small bottle of hydration wherever I go. It's bursting with a host of botanical goodies which leave my skin feeling refreshed and revitalised, perfect too when the weather is piping hot and all you want to do is cool down.
Skinny Tan 7-Day Tanner, $30.
Being naturally fair and also knowing full well the danger of the harsh rays, I am a huge fan of faking it. Being careful not to go too dark is always my main concern. A gradual tanner is always a good option for me as I can build up to the colour I like and then keep it topped up if and when I need. It also doubles as a great moisturiser.
Burt's Bees Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleansing Towelettes, $12.
While I always like to cleanse, tone and moisturise twice a day, I have to admit to taking a night off now and then to use a wipe. These ones are bursting with moisture making them do the job in a flash. These smell divine, do a great job and make me feel a whole lot less guilty about a 'cheat night'.
Pure Fiji Dilo Rescue Body Spray, $45.
This is never far by my side on holiday - whether it's to douse on myself or my children, this really is like a magic elixir for parched summer skin. Whether you got caught out in the sun or simply need some hydration, this formulation with anti-bacterial properties is an all-time fave of mine.
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Intensive Lip Repair Balm, $45.
This all-in-one salve is not only a tiny travel size, but it's completely multi-functional making it a welcome addition to the overnight bag. With its ability to soothe lips, cuticles, scratches not to mention dry patches on your body, this pot of gold is quite literally worth its weight in gold.
TL+C Aero Travel Pack, $17.
Save on weight by decanting your beauty bottles into smaller travel-size versions. These clear containers make it easy to see what you have and also if you're planning on flying overseas, they allow for more room to pack your destination shopping.
Ecoya Mini Celebration Candle, $30.
I love to take a candle wherever I go. They not only smell amazing, but are perfect or adding atmosphere to wherever you may be staying. I take a small travel-size like this one to save on space but still be able to treat myself with having it come along with me.
Tangle Teezer Aqua Splash, $30.
Ocean swims and dips in the pool often cause havoc on my tresses so arming myself with the much-loved Tangle Teezer is a must for my hair. For holiday breaks, I take the Aqua Splash which stands proudly in the shower ready and waiting to be used multiple times during the day.
