Sunglass edit

They finish an outfit and protect your best assets. Trudi Brewer shares her pick of shades to covet this summer.

This season's sunnies are knockout. From aviator to cat eye or oversized they also happen to be universally flattering for any face shape. And once you add a mirror lens, they will turn heads. Finding the perfect fit is everything, however, sunglasses do serve a purpose, they protect your eyes and the delicate skin around them from those damaging UV rays. Here's my picks of new season styles that marry fashion and function.

Top Row
Christian Dior sunglasses, $860. House of Holland sunglasses, $149. Karen Walker sunglasses, $459. Louis Vuitton sunglasses, $800.

Second Row
Miu Miu sunglasses, $780. Trelise Cooper sunglasses, $249. Preen sunglasses, $280. Dolce & Gabanna sunglasses, $930

When choosing sunglasses, finding a frame to flatter your face starts with this advice.
Oval face shape
Your choices are endless, and most frames will flatter your face shape including rectangle, round and the on-trend oversized frame.
Round face shape
Offset round features with geometric shapes, such as rectangle frames that will elongate.
Square face shape
Round frames and those that curve downward such as the aviator are perfect for this face shape.
Heart face shape
Choose frames that soften your broad brow and complement a pointed chin, these include aviators and rectangle shapes.
